ELA Technology Standard
The ELA Technology Standard I chose for 4th graders is LAFS.4.W.2.6 to support the use of technology by using the internet to produce and publish writing. This standard encourages students to enhance their writing skills and the teacher demonstrates internet search and keyboard skills to type one page in a timely manner. Moreover, I would demonstrate the use of internet searching and sufficient commands of keyboard typing. I think this standard is a good way for students to improve their writing skills through the use of technology. I believe that I would be prepared to use this standard on my students as I have a good amount of skills in implementing technology and online keyboarding applications.
CPALMS Resource
On the CPALMS Resource website, I picked the 4th-grade level. For my class, I selected the Language Arts subject and the LAFS.4.RI.1.2 resource. The resource that I selected is used to determine the main idea and to summarize the text. Students can practice by answering reading comprehension questions. I would use this resource as I think it is useful to help students properly summarize a text and to determine the meaning of the text. Moreover, I would implement this by assisting them by rereading, finding context cues, and having discussions in class.
Internet Searching
Internet searching is a very important skill for both students and teachers. For a teacher, this skill is crucial to efficiently find information to implement them in the class. With the use of technology, teachers are able to use online materials and run their classes efficiently. Moreover, the internet provides teachers with the necessary resources and materials. From the internet skills that were introduced this week, I think I will use "advanced search" to accurately find resources. As a psychology major, I use sometimes Google scholar which helps me a lot in finding peer-reviewed articles that help me for my research papers.
